Seawater close to Japan’s damaged nuclear reactors is reported to reach a much increased level of radioactive iodine compared to the previous reports.

Japan’s nuclear safety agency said that seawater close to the Fukushima Daiichi plant’s reactor number one reached radioactive iodine at 3,355 times the legal limit.

Regardless, an authority said the iodine could have deteriorated drasticly by the time it reached people.
